It's a Magical Storybook World...

Jan Mader Ignite to Write: Blowing dandelions can lead to a magical storybook world.... writes:

"I love language. I play with words. I am dazzled by how we are alike and how we are different. Blowing dandelions. Watching bubbles. What do they make you think about? What do they make your kids think about? Ask them! Please share. "

Taylor (8):
"Dandelions are for wishing."
"Bubbles are flooooaty...whee!"

Bear (6):
(Ok, to be fair, I asked him over the phone while he was out with Dad, so he was a bit distracted)

Dandelions: "Um...I don't know, nothing really."

(Me) "Nothing?"

Bear: "Well, they remind me of what a sweet Mom I have."
(lol, riiight...he's learned that from his Dad ;-)

Bubbles: "Ooh, I like those!"

Chloe (3):
On Dandelions: "I don't know what a dan-de-lion is...oh wait! I know! A dan-de-lion is like a flower...I sneeze those flowers.

On Bubbles: "Bubbles are for popping. (Singing) Popping bubbles..pop, pop, pop! ...Mommy, can I take a buuuuble bath?"

"sure Chlo..."

(Singing again, as she's walking up the stairs)

"Our imagination is the key,
'cause we never know what we're gonna be...
Come on let's play,
we'll take the day,
come on let's fly away."

Favorite Things Friday

Favorite Things Today:

-Taylor orchestrating a performance of Cinderella and getting her brother & sister to co-operate
-Chloe waving her "magical" K'nex wand & saying "Bibbity-bobbity Boof!"
-Bear willingly playing the part of "Prince Charming" and even dancing with his sister
-Seeing my son wearing my Grandaddy's hat...made me feel like he is still right here with us

Chloe-ism's

I just love 3 year-olds. They have some of the best things to say. I still remember Taylor's "triagiggles," and Bear doing his "arts and craps," at that age...priceless! Here's some of Chloe's latest gems:

On the night of a full moon: "Mommy look! The moon doesn't have pieces out of it!"

As she's climbing over the back of the couch (which she's NOT supposed to do) she slips and falls between the cushions, and we hear a muffled, "Help, I'm dwowning in the couch!"

On the way to my parent's house: "Mommy, I just love Oma and Opa. Opa is funny, and Oma is beautiful." (Oma was especially appreciative of that compliment ;-)

In the morning while I was pouring my coffee: (In a broken monotone voice) "Momma-I-want-chocolate-milk."
While I sleepily ponder her unusual tone, I give my automatic reply, "Chloe, you have to ask NICELY."
And she says, "But-I-a-wobot."
At which point I had to restrain myself from snorting coffee out my nose.
